The inaugural Zipangu festival in Pasadena is partnering with Xbox and Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang on a capsule of upcycled Japanese selvedge denim jackets.

Fashion meets J-pop at the Rose Bowl
The inaugural Zipangu festival is arriving with more than music. According to Billboard, the J-pop event has partnered with Xbox and Fast & Furious franchise actor Sung Kang, alongside LA-based AAPI-led lifestyle brand UPRISERS LAB, on a limited fashion collaboration tied to the release of Forza Horizon 6.
The festival itself takes place Saturday at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, and is being billed by promoters Goldenvoice and Cloud Nine as the largest Japanese music event on U.S. soil devoted to Japanese music and culture. The lineup includes Ado, ATARASHII GAKKO!, CHANMINA, HANA, MAN WITH A MISSION, Yuki Chiba, and 10-FEET.
The collection
The capsule features two jacket styles built from upcycled Japanese selvedge denim, with custom laser-etched details: cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, Japanese sports cars, and Forza Horizon 6 and Zipangu branding.
The first style, the Zipangu x Forza Horizon 6 Edition jacket, runs 3M reflective silver tape along the seams and includes a fully sublimated interior lining plus a controller pocket sized for both Xbox and PlayStation controllers.
The second, the Sung Kang x Forza Horizon 6 jacket, leans harder into craft. It comes in a soft periwinkle colorway inspired by Tokyo's evening sky and features hand-sewn 3D cherry blossom denim appliqués alongside sashiko-style patches etched with Japanese drift references. Only six of these jackets were made.
How to get one
Fans can enter through Xbox's Instagram account for a chance to win a jacket. Attendees at Zipangu will also have an on-site chance to win. Given that the Sung Kang variant exists in an edition of six, the odds are not exactly generous, but the objects themselves seem built to outlast the hype cycle.
