Dexter Holland joins Electric Callboy on new single 'Let the Good Times Roll'
The Offspring frontman lends his voice to the German electronicore band's latest preview of their upcoming album TANZNEID, out August 7.
A foundational influence steps into the studio
Electric Callboy have released "Let the Good Times Roll," a new single featuring Dexter Holland of The Offspring, and the track is exactly as energetic as that pairing suggests. According to Billboard, the song is the latest preview of Electric Callboy's forthcoming album TANZNEID, due August 7. It slots neatly into the band's established formula of metalcore breakdowns crashing into techno drops and pop hooks, now carried in part by Holland's unmistakable tenor.
A full-circle moment for the German band
For Electric Callboy, who formed in Germany in 2010, the collaboration lands somewhere between milestone and dream. "The Offspring have been one of the bands that shaped us from the very beginning," the band said in a statement. "Their music was part of our lives long before Electric Callboy even existed, so having Dexter on this song honestly feels surreal."
Holland was equally candid about why he said yes. "When Electric Callboy sent us the track, it immediately put a grin on our faces," he said. "It's energetic, unpredictable and doesn't take itself too seriously, exactly the kind of spirit we've always loved about punk and rock music."
The Offspring connection carries some weight here. Holland's voice is the one behind "Come Out and Play," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in 1994, and "Self Esteem," which peaked at No. 4 on the same chart.
What's next for Electric Callboy
The single arrives as the band opens their European festival season, with appearances at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Their TANZNEID World Tour also includes an Australian run in September, with Ice Nine Kills and Coldrain as special guests. The leg opens at RAC Arena in Perth on September 4 and closes at Riverstage in Brisbane on September 12 and 13, with the September 12 date already sold out.
Electric Callboy are no strangers to this kind of momentum. Their 2022 album TEKKNO amassed hundreds of millions of streams worldwide, built on viral tracks like "Hypa Hypa," "We Got the Moves" and "RATATATA" featuring BABYMETAL. TANZNEID is available for pre-order now.
