Is Taylor Swift contributing to Toy Story 5? Fans decode a cryptic 'TS' billboard campaign
A mysterious billboard with the initials 'TS' and 13 clouds has Swifties convinced Taylor Swift is involved in Pixar's upcoming Toy Story 5.

The billboard that started everything
Taylor Swift fans are convinced something big is coming after a cryptic Taylor Swift Toy Story 5 connection surfaced online. On May 29, a billboard featuring the initials "TS" appeared against the franchise's signature blue-sky-and-white-clouds backdrop. Swifties immediately got to work: according to Billboard, eagle-eyed fans counted exactly 13 clouds on the display, a number long associated with Swift's self-described lucky number.
Pixar adds fuel to the fire
Things escalated on May 30 when Pixar shared the billboard on Instagram alongside an image of Jessie dancing on top of the display. The caption read "She's making those moves up as she goes!" which fans interpreted as a direct reference to the lyrics of "Shake It Off", Swift's 2014 single. The song spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The reaction in the comments was immediate. "SHAKE IT OFF REFERENCE, TAY STORY IS HAPPENING!!!" wrote one fan. Others leaned harder into the fantasy: "A NEW TAYLOR SWIFT SONG IN TOY STORY 5 IS ACTUALLY THE CURE TO HEAL MILLENNIALS."
Adding one more thread to pull, the cover art for 1989 (Taylor's Version) on streaming platforms appeared to have been updated around the same time, with the original seagulls replaced by clouds. Billboard noted it had reached out to Swift's representatives for comment but had not received a response at press time.
What we know about Toy Story 5
Beyond the speculation, several facts about the film are confirmed. Bad Bunny has joined the voice cast as a character named "Pizza with Sunglasses," a detail Pixar announced earlier this week. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack return as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, respectively. The film follows the toys competing for Bonnie's attention against a high-tech device called Lilypad. Toy Story 5 is scheduled to open in theaters on June 19.
Whether Swift is involved or not, Pixar has clearly found an efficient way to turn a billboard into a cultural event.
