Spotify is rolling out a new feature that shows your listening history from the day you joined, including your first song ever and an all-time top 120 playlist.

Spotify launches 'Party of the Year(s)' to celebrate its 20th anniversary with your all-time stats

Bigger than Wrapped

Spotify has spent years giving users a snapshot of their year in music. Now, in honor of its 20th anniversary, the platform is going further. According to Billboard, the company announced on Tuesday, May 12, the launch of Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s), a feature available to both free and premium account holders that covers a user's entire listening history on the service.

The difference from Wrapped is deliberate. Product manager Axel Ulfson put it plainly: Wrapped "reflects a single year in culture and listening," while the new experience showcases "the full listener journey from the moment they joined Spotify."

What it actually shows you

Once you open the feature, you will find:

  • The exact date you joined Spotify
  • The total number of individual songs you have listened to since that day
  • The first song you ever played on the platform
  • Your all-time most streamed artist
  • A curated All-Time Top Songs Playlist made up of the 120 songs you have streamed the most

Shareable cards with your personal stats are also generated, designed for posting on social media or sending to friends.

How to access it

There are two straightforward ways in. On the Spotify mobile app (version 9.1.46 or later), search for either "Spotify 20" or "Party of the Year(s)" and the feature will appear. Alternatively, visit spotify.com/20 on your mobile device to be taken directly to the experience.

Spotify previewed the feature for press on Monday, May 11. Global brand and program lead Angela Leffell described the thinking behind it: "We always wanted this to feel really rooted in our users. We're really here because of them."

It is a smart move for a platform that has made Wrapped one of the most talked-about annual social media rituals in music. Extending that logic across a user's entire history gives the anniversary a personal weight that a standard campaign simply could not.
