Salem return with Red Dragon, their first album since 2020

Salem are back

Salem have released a new album, Red Dragon, available today. According to Pitchfork, this is the group's first full-length since Fires in Heaven, which came out in 2020.

Pioneers with a quiet return

The band built their reputation as one of the defining acts in witch house, a murky, slowed-down subgenre that left a long shadow over underground electronic music in the 2010s. Red Dragon arrives without a prolonged rollout or press campaign, which is, honestly, on brand for a group that has never been interested in playing by the usual rules.
