Milo J rewrites the record books
Milo J made Premios Gardel history on May 26, becoming the most awarded artist ever in a single edition of Argentina's top music prizes. The 19-year-old took home 13 trophies, including the coveted Gardel de Oro, according to Billboard. His wins covered album of the year for La Vida Era Mas Corta, song of the year and record of the year for "Nino," plus categories spanning urban, folklore, hip-hop/rap and music video. You can follow his catalogue on his artist page.
A night of emotion
Milo J opened the ceremony with a performance of "Nino" and "Luciernagas," backed by a children's choir. Accepting the night's top prize, he said: "I want to thank everyone, especially those I don't always have time to thank for everything they've done for me. I want you to know that, in one way or another, you saved my life. And to music, which saved me from not being happy."
The record-breaking haul cements his status as one of the most important voices to emerge from Argentina's urban scene in recent years.
