The Essential Michael Jackson holds No. 1 on the U.K. Albums Chart for a second straight week
The compilation stays at the top of the Official Albums Chart dated May 15, with Thriller also climbing into the top five.

Two weeks and counting
The Essential Michael Jackson holds the No. 1 spot on the U.K. Albums Chart for a second consecutive week, on the chart dated May 15. According to Billboard, renewed interest in Michael Jackson's catalogue follows the blockbuster Michael biopic, which has driven strong streaming and physical sales across his discography in recent weeks. The compilation returned to the top position for the first time in 17 years on the previous chart frame (May 8) before extending its run.
The rest of the top ten
Westlife's new compilation, 25 – The Ultimate Collection, debuts at No. 2. It becomes the Irish group's 15th top 10 album in the U.K. Noah Kahan's The Great Divide rises one place to No. 3, while Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving lands at No. 4.
Jackson holds a second position in the top five as well. His 1982 classic Thriller climbs to No. 5, giving him two entries inside the top five simultaneously.
Sheffield band Reverend and The Makers debut at No. 7 with Is This How Happiness Feels?, their third U.K. top 10 entry after The State of Things (2007) and Heatwave in the Cold North (2023). Frontman Jon McClure told the Official Charts Company: "Number 1 Official Independent album and a third Top Ten. Enjoying being a chart veteran!"
Harry Styles' Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. re-enters the chart at No. 9, boosted by anticipation for his Together, Together Tour, which opens this weekend in Amsterdam. Katy Perry's compilation The One That Got the Plays comes in at No. 13, while Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft returns to the top 40 at No. 32.
