Kylie Minogue confirms 40th anniversary tour plans for 2027
The pop icon accidentally let the news slip in an interview with The Sunday Times, days before her Netflix documentary premieres on May 20.

"I'm probably not meant to say this, but yes"
Kylie Minogue has confirmed a Kylie Minogue 40th anniversary tour is in the works, and she did it the hard way: by accident. Speaking to The Sunday Times Style magazine, the 57-year-old pop icon was asked directly whether she planned to mark the milestone with a tour. Her answer left little room for doubt. "I'm probably not meant to say this, but yes, I am," she said. According to Billboard, the tour would take place in 2027, timed to the four-decade mark since she launched her pop career.
From Neighbours to Netflix
Minogue first broke through in 1987, while still starring in Australian TV soap Neighbours, with a cover of "The Loco-Motion" that went to No. 1 in Australia. The interview comes just days before the premiere of KYLIE, a three-part Netflix documentary series dropping May 20. The series is directed by Emmy and BAFTA Award-winner Michael Harte, the team behind BECKHAM, WHAM! and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, and produced by John Battsek's Ventureland.
The documentary features contributions from Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave and Pete Waterman, and draws on personal archives, home movies and new interviews with Minogue herself. It also covers her 2005 breast cancer diagnosis and decades of personal and public scrutiny.
"There was so much to get through. How the hell do you tell the story?" she said, admitting she felt "a knot of excitement and nerves" ahead of the release.
A new song and old ambitions
Minogue also revealed she wrote an original song for the documentary's closing sequence, describing the process as grueling. "I worked so hard on it, it was like rolling a rock up a hill," she said.
Beyond the tour and the documentary, she expressed a desire to return to acting. "I would love to do a musical, to act again, to be in the hands of a director who can get me there," she told the magazine.
The artist has sold over 80 million records worldwide. Her most recent studio album, Tension, produced the viral hit "Padam Padam" in 2023, keeping her firmly in the cultural conversation well into her fifth decade as a performer.
