Katy Perry and Chief Keef squash 2013 beef with Legendary Lovers remix tease
More than a decade after a very public Twitter spat, Katy Perry and Chief Keef linked up in the studio and teased a remix of her 2013 track Legendary Lovers.

From Twitter beef to studio session
The Katy Perry and Chief Keef reunion that nobody saw coming is now very much real. According to Billboard, footage surfaced on Wednesday, May 27, of the two hanging out in a parking lot with their respective teams before apparently heading into the studio together. Perry later posted a TikTok captioned "Legendary link up," soundtracked by her 2013 song "Legendary Lovers" with what sounds like new vocals from Chief Keef, teasing a potential remix.
A beef that became internet lore
For context, Perry and Keef had one of the more memorable Twitter clashes of 2013. It started when Perry publicly criticized a song she heard on the radio, not immediately realizing it was Keef's "Hate Bein' Sober," which featured Wiz Khalifa and 50 Cent. Keef, who was still a teenager at the time, responded with a NSFW message and at one point threatened to "smack" her. Perry apologized, explaining she had not recognized his voice among the featured guests. Keef also apologized for his reaction. The exchange never fully left the internet's memory, which made the studio link-up all the more surprising.
Where Legendary Lovers fits in 2025
"Legendary Lovers" originally appeared on Perry's 2013 album Prism. The track resurfaced recently on her compilation The Ones That Got the Plays, which arrived earlier in May and debuted at No. 117 on the Billboard 200. That LP spans her catalog from One of the Boys through 2020's Smile, and also includes her 2025 single "Bandaids." Whether the remix becomes an official release remains to be seen, but the TikTok clip has already done its job of generating conversation.
