Jasiel Nuñez, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and more compete in Billboard's best new Latin music poll
Billboard's weekly Latin music poll is open through June 8, featuring new releases from Jasiel Nuñez, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Yorghaki and several others.
Billboard's weekly Latin poll is wide open
Billboard's New Music Latin poll for this week is one of the more crowded in recent memory. According to Billboard, editors have curated a list that includes Jasiel Nuñez, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, and Yorghaki, among others. The poll closes at 11 a.m. ET on Monday, June 8, and results will only be published if it generates more than 1,000 votes.
Jasiel Nuñez leads the conversation
The emerging música mexicana artist arrives with not one but two new singles this week: "Bobo Me Tienes" and "Suave." The two tracks approach a shared emotional theme from opposite sonic directions. "Bobo Me Tienes" leans on piano instrumentation and a deeper vocal register, sitting comfortably within the more traditional side of música mexicana. "Suave," on the other hand, pulls toward electronic-influenced production and a noticeably more upbeat energy, showing a different side of Nuñez's range.
The rest of the field
Nicky Jam enters the race with "FKU," while Ozuna offers "Mi Yo De Antes" as his latest single. Yorghaki is also in the mix with his first solo album, titled Antes De Que Sea Tarde. Baby Rasta y Gringo, Brray, and Saúl el Jaguar y El Bebeto round out the week's new releases featured in the poll.
For context, the most recent poll was won by Luis Figueroa's El Relevo album, which pulled more than 82% of the vote. That's a high bar. Whether any single release this week manages to consolidate support the same way remains to be seen.
