Drake breaks 2026 Spotify single-day records for artist, album and song with Iceman
Iceman and its opening track Make Them Cry broke Spotify's 2026 single-day streaming records on May 15, Drake's first solo project since 2023.

Three albums in one morning
Drake did not ease into 2026. On May 15, the rapper dropped three surprise solo projects at once: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti. The move paid off fast. By the end of that same Friday, according to Billboard, Spotify confirmed that Drake had broken three 2026 single-day records on the platform: most-streamed artist, most-streamed album (Iceman), and most-streamed song ("Make Them Cry," the opening track on Iceman).
Spotify announced the news across its social channels the same night: "On May 15th, Drake became Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2026 in a single day, ICEMAN became the most-streamed album of 2026 in a single day, and 'Make Them Cry' became the most-streamed song in a single day in 2026 so far."
First solo record since For All the Dogs
The trio of releases marks Drake's first solo output since For All the Dogs in 2023. In between, he put out Some Sexy Songs 4 U, a joint album with fellow Canadian artist PARTYNEXTDOOR, but nothing under his name alone until now.
Before Iceman arrived, BTS had held the 2026 single-day streaming album record with ARIRANG, released in March. The timing carries a small irony: Drake name-drops the South Korean group on "Make Them Cry" itself, rapping "I'm feeling like BTS, 'cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered." BTS members V and J-Hope were caught on video reacting to the lyric in real time, freezing mid-dance and looking straight at the camera.
What comes next
Three albums on the same day is an unusual rollout strategy even by Drake's standards. Whether the project cycle continues with visuals, tour dates, or more releases remains to be seen. For now, the numbers speak clearly enough.
