Bad Bunny and Adidas drop a vivid red Ballerina sneaker inspired by Puerto Rico
The new colorway draws from the Flamboyán tree and its role in Puerto Rican folklore, and it drops May 30 for $120 on Adidas.com.

Bad Bunny and Adidas release their most striking Ballerina colorway yet
The Bad Bunny Adidas Ballerina sneaker is back, this time in a vivid red that doubles as a quiet tribute to Puerto Rico. According to Billboard, the new colorway was inspired by the Flamboyán tree, whose fiery red flowers bloom in late May and carry deep meaning in Puerto Rican folklore as a symbol of resilience. The shoe drops Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. ET on Adidas.com and retails for $120.
Already spotted on stage
Fans who caught Bad Bunny at his sold-out Puerto Rico residency may recognize the shoe. He wore the vivid red Ballerina during those shows, giving the most devoted followers an early preview before the official launch.
The silhouette features textured suede uppers and bungee-cord laces, a design Billboard traces back to the Adidas Taekwondo shoe from the early 2000s, built for performance without traditional closures. The profile is slim and intended for everyday wear.
Context in a growing catalog
This is not the first Ballerina the duo has produced. Bad Bunny's original Ballerina, also launched in 2025, arrived in a bold gold colorway with similar suede detailing. The partnership itself goes back further: the two first collaborated in March 2021 with The First Cafe, a coffee-themed Adidas Forum Buckle Low.
Since then, the list of collaborative sneakers has grown to include the Adidas AdiRacer GT, the Forum Powerphase, and the Gazelle Indoor, among others.
Move fast or pay the resale premium
Demand for Bad Bunny x Adidas releases has been consistently steep. The most recent BADBO 1.0, a beige and black model that dropped on March 28, sold out almost immediately. According to Billboard, the resale value of that shoe has since climbed to nearly $700 on platforms such as StockX and GOAT. The vivid red Ballerina is likely to follow a similar trajectory.
